Exciting new fabric collections for our fabric library

Happy May everyone!

After such an intense and rainy winter, I think we're all relieved to see the sun make its long overdue return. In true British fashion, our windows were flung open and BBQs lit the moment temperatures crept into the high teens. Each spring, alongside the warmer weather, we also look forward to the release of new collections from our fabric and wallpaper suppliers - and this year’s fabulous offerings from Romo and Villa Nova are no exception!

With so many new collections to explore, we’ve decided to take a short break from our building and renovation series. We’ll be back next month to continue the series with a focus on how interior designers can best support the process - particularly when it comes to budgeting.

Diving into new Romo collections

So back to the world of fabrics! Zephi from Romo is a striking new collection of decorative velvets - bold, expressive and full of character. The designs bring together clean geometric prints with a rich colour scheme and each piece is woven by a family-run mill. It is so refreshing to see such contemporary designs still grounded in traditional craftsmanship!

The Otillo collection brings together both fabrics and wallcoverings, centred around a beautiful, desert-inspired palette. Organic shapes and detailed composition give the collection a sense of artisanal charm, while the warm spice tones feel both comforting and eye-catching. The eight accompanying wallcoverings feature intricate embossing, adding a layer of depth and tactile interest to both home and commercial spaces

The latest from Villa Nova

Turning our attention to Villa Nova, we couldn’t resist highlighting the fabulous new Zariacollection, spanning prints, embroideries and sheers. Here, expressive brushstrokes meet more structured designs, resulting in a collection that feels both artistic and balanced. The palette offers a considered mix of soft blue hues, bold earthy tones, and nuanced combinations of the two.

We would also be remiss not to mention the new Morandi decorative weaves collection. Woven from a blend of chenille and richly textured yarns, these designs offer a tactile depth that brings added richness to any scheme. If any of these designs have caught your eye, we would love to welcome you into the studio where you can explore the full collections, browse our fabric books, and experience the textures and colours firsthand.

Why we love the Romo Group

The Romo Group is a collection of well-established fabric brands including Romo, Black Edition, Kirkby Design, Mark Alexander, Villa Nova, and Zinc Textile. Each has its own distinct identity, and together they offer an impressive breadth of patterns, textures and designs to suit a wide range of interior finishes and budgets.

Founded by Robert Mould in 1902 as a small-scale furniture business, the company quickly evolved into a leading fabric supplier, establishing its in-house design studio in the 1980s. Today, it remains design-led and forward-thinking.

A defining feature of the Romo Group is its continued family leadership. Now led by Jonathon Mould - the founder's great grandson - alongside his children, the business retains a strong sense of heritage while continuing to evolve. In an ever-changing industry, it is rare to find a company that balances innovation with such enduring family values - something that makes The Romo Group truly distinctive.

We are proud to be a stockist with an extensive library of fabric books, including the latest collections.

Welcome to our fabric library!

We understand how difficult it can be to source the right fabrics without ordering an overwhelming number of samples, often costly and time-consuming process. To simplify this, we’ve opened up our extensive fabric library to fellow interior designers, curtain makers and home sewers. To ensure you have the space and access to the most relevant collections, we kindly ask that appointments are booked in advance.

Contrary to popular belief, fabric and wallpaper books are a significant investment often costing hundreds of pounds each. If you are a client actively working with us on an interior design project, access to our library is included. For external customers, a fee will apply. This allows us to maintain and continually update our collection, while offering you a more efficient alternative to ordering multiple samples online. Should you go on to commission us for your soft furnishings, this fee can be credited against your order. If you'd be interested in this service, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has taken part in our survey - the insights have been incredibly valuable. If you haven’t yet had the chance, we would really appreciate you taking a moment to complete it via the attached Google Form.

We hope you enjoy the final weeks of spring and look forward to sharing the next instalment of our interiors series with you in June.

Best wishes
